This tale begins in the sixth century . . .
A long time
ago, our house was One.
And it was filled with Love.
So much Love, that no matter how
evil someone was, and no matter
what awful things they did, none
were ever put to death.
We had not the heart to kill our
own, from our own blood line.
Are these not also our mother’s
children, is what we would say, and
the wicked evildoers would be
banished from our house into exile.
Banished, but not harmed. It was a
good and proper thing for us
within, to do.
We were wrong . . . very wrong.
Many many decades passed, and the
wild bastard exiles multiplied, and
grew into a ravenous army, called
the Horde.
In the eleventh century, when their
numbers had reached many thousands,
they mounted an assault against the
nobles of the region.
Destroying all in their path, as
they swept through valley after
valley.
Every house fell . . . Every . . . but One.
They were unable to defeat the
house from which they had
originated.
The House of XI.
But, the builder of our great house
had to give his life, that it
should stand, and keep strong,
those that are within.
He died defending us from our own . . .
From the horde . . .
From the remnant of our own seed.
That will never happen again.
Now, we control our inferior seed,
not by exiling them . . .
But rather by eliminating the bad ones . . .
Before they could ever unite
against the house from which they
came
. . . again.
